Understanding Your Skin Type
The first step to building an effective skincare routine is understanding your skin type. K-Beauty categorizes skin into five main types: normal, dry, oily, combination, and sensitive.
For Dry Skin
- Look for hydrating essences with hyaluronic acid
- Choose cream-based moisturizers over gel formulas
- Use sleeping packs for overnight hydration
- Avoid products with high alcohol content
- Consider facial oils to lock in moisture
For Oily Skin
- Opt for lightweight, gel-based moisturizers
- Use oil-free sunscreens
- Try clay masks once or twice a week
- Look for products with tea tree or centella
- Use mattifying primers

For Combination Skin
Combination skin requires a balanced approach. Use lighter products on your T-zone and richer formulas on dry areas. Sheet masks are perfect for combination skin as they provide even hydration.
For Sensitive Skin
Look for products labeled as hypoallergenic and free from fragrances and essential oils. Centella asiatica (cica) is a hero ingredient for sensitive skin, known for its soothing and healing properties.
